The University of Miami is the largest private research university in the Southeast. Established in 1925, UM is known for its outstanding faculty, ground-breaking research, diverse student body and history of athletics excellence. The University comprises 14 schools and colleges located on four campuses: the historic Coral Gables Campus, the School of Medicine Complex in downtown Miami, the waterfront Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science Campus on Virginia Key in Biscayne Bay, and research facilities on South Campus in southwest Miami-Dade County.
